The following is a newspaper article that was among family papers. There is no date or place, although on reverse there are ads with Chicago and Milwaukee Junction, New York as addresses. Perhaps this is an article from a paper in England that was also published in the U.S.Part of it was torn and incomplete.I don't know that this Miss Breese is connected to my Breese line, and think the family may have kept it just because it was about a "Breese".It would be interesting to find out if anyone knows anything about this.
The marriage of Miss Breese And the duke of Roxburghe’s brother will bring society rushing back to London next month. Mrs. Harry Higgins, the mother of the prospective bride, will hold the reception and all that is smartest of British society, will be present. Although the Roxburghe family (save the duke, whose American wife brought him a goodly share of the Goelet millions) are not wealthy they hold a premier place in society and are related to half the aristocracy. The dowager duchess of Roxburghe is an aunt of the duke of Marlborough, who has promised to be present, and I hear his two boys, Lord Blandford and Lord Ivor Spencer Churchill, have been asked to be pages. Whether...... mother will permit them to ......... to be seen, for she has already......to be present, for the Roxburg... offended her by the attitude ....... ..sumed at the time of the ....................... between her and the duke.
The great part of the fut.... trousseau has not arrived f... The wedding gown is the pe.. ........ elegance and simplicity. It is copied from a picture in the Louvre, and some priceless antique lace, one of numerous gifts from her mother, will trim it.
