I am no expert at this but I have surfed this topic alot on the internet and have received some information via emails from others.
Richard Sanders, a Rev. War veteran, was born 10/28/1755 in North Carolina.Several records have shown Perquimans County, NC. He died at the home of his son Thomas in 1836 in Orange County, IN.
He had at least two wives and probably three according to this forum.I have him marrying Hannah Morgan Hemby--probably a second marriage for her--on November 1, 1780 in Perquimans County, NC.According to what I have been able to piece together, they had 3 children--Thomas b. 1792, Mary b. 1795 and Hannah b. 1796.
His next wife was Elizabeth Breeze.I think I remember seeing references showing that they married in NC and then settled in Orange County, IN.I have Elizabeth being born 1/1/1785 and dying on 3/26/1856 at Walnut Hill, Jefferson county IL.They had the following children:John--my line--, Miles, Aaron, Elmore and William. There were proably females but I do not have them referenced yet.
I remember seeing that Richard Sanders and son John Sanders were one of the earliest settlers of Orange County, IN.
Please let me know which Breeze family you think Elizabeth was from.I see lots of Breezes in Indiana and then in Jefferson County IL.I have often wondered why some of the Breezes and Sanders families left Orange county, IN and went to Jefferson County IL.This has always puzzled me.
