HI, I am not sure if there is a connection, but I just recently discovered that my Great Great Grandfather, Philip Schunk, may have been married to a Breitenbach.I do know that Philip lived in NYC but later moved to Newark, NJ.My Great Grandfather Peter Schunk ran away from home as a young boy after his real mother passed away.Peter's marriage cert listed "Rachel Black" as his mother.I think he may have been mistaken as she died right after he was born & then he ran away at around 11, so may not have known her name.To the point, Philip Schunk is buried in Lutheran Cem., Queens, NY, in a lot purchased by a Johannes or Johann Breitenbach.I also found out that one of Peter's older brothers Henry's birth cert listed a Rachel "Breitenbach" as his mother. If you know of a Breitenbach/Schunk connection in NYC in the 1850-1900 era, I would love any info you have.Thanks.
