Not my family line, just sharing.
The following Biographical sketch was copied from the book "HISTORY AND BIOGRAPHY COUNTIES OF WHITE AND PULASKI, INDIANA. Historical and Biographical. Illustrated. Chicago; F.A. Battey & Co., Publishers. 1883.
page 749, Tippecanoe Township, Pulaski County, Indiana.
"JEREMIAH ALLEN was born in Montgomery County, Ohio, May 9, 1809, and is one of twelve children born to JEREMIAH and REBECCA (WATSON) ALLEN. Of the twelve, SYLVANUS, JEREMIAH, SARAH, JOHN, MARY, and WILLIAM only survive. The father, a native of Virginia, was a soldier in the war of 1812; he was a farmer, and died in Montgomery County, Ohio, in 1872, at the age of eighty-one years. JEREMIAH ALLEN farmed about five years in Montgomery County, Ohio, one year in Miami County, and five years in Shelby County. He came to this township in 1844, and has lived on his present place ever since. He was married, May 21, 1829, to HANNAH BRELSFORD, who gave birth to eleven children - ISAAC, ALVINA, MARY, LAWSON, SYLVANUS, SARAH, WILSON, SAMUEL, REBECCA, WILLIAM and ROMELIA. ISAAC, ALVINA and SARAH are dead. It will be seen that MR. ALLEN was among the earliest settlers of the township. His farm comprises 145 acres, and is situated about one mile and a quarter northeast of Monterey. He is a member of the Methodist Church, and is universally respected."
