Hello Cheryl,
I hope that you can help me concerning the following.
My name is Hans Fritz. I was born in Holland on June 1st,1946.
My mother, a Dutch girl, was named Corrie Knijnenburg. My father's name is ALEC or ALEXANDER BREMNER.
My father was an American soldier who came from Maryland (probably from Baltimore, but it could also be a town of which the name looks or sounds like his last name) and was stationed in Germany. He met my mother at a dance in Noordwijk, Holland, while he was on leave. He stayed at the Noordwijk Hotel, which was by that time an army barracks.
It was love at first sight so they spent some time together. This was at the end of August, 1945. After those few days they never met anymore.
My mother lived in Wassenaar. I was born in a hospital in Nijmegen also in Holland but after a few weeks she returned to her hometown Wassenaar. She had good neighbours, the Kool family. Mr. Kool was captain on a ship that sailed to America. He offered to visit Alec Bremner's parents and tell them about my birth.
He was told by the parents that Alec was already engaged to be
married to an American girl, but they would give him the message. They gave a box of baby clothes to give to my mother. That is last contact that was made with that family!
My mother married a Dutchman when I was 6 years old, but I still want to know about my Roots in the USA and I have tried everything, without success.
I hope you can help me.
Thank you very much for all your trouble in do so.
