I am researching my maternal grandfather's family. He had a cousin by the name of Olivia Kohn, who married Louis BRETL.In Olivia's mother's obituary (1946) Olivia is listed as living in Menominee, Michigan. Her family also lived in Manitowoc, Wisconsin, among other cities.
My grandfather's name was Ferdinand Jackl, and his father's family immigrated from Neuern-Nyrsko, Bohemia/Austria/Czechoslovakia in the 1880's.(Ferdinand's father, Joseph, was sibling to Olivia's mother, Bertha Jackl.)
I noticed that you are also researching the ALTMAN name. This might just be a coincidence, but on a scrap of paper, written by my late grandfather, he has written "Mary Ripp married Altman.Prince Rupert, Canada, British Columbia.Born Aug 15, 18??"
I don't know who Mary Ripp is, yet I assume that she might be a half-relative of my grandfather, Ferdinand.(His maternal grandmother was previously married to a man named Adam Ripp. After Adam Ripp's death, Mary Broedl Ripp married Ferdinand Baumann.)
I hope this isn't too confusing, and perhaps we can connect! Kim
