Interesting note for you, but doesn't answer your question, unless my information on her husband is incorrect.I have that she married John Bell, 1858-1859, Coles Co., IL.
11/10/97All of the information about this branch of the Brewers is from Gloria Jones' Brewer research group, online.
...Lucretia Brewer " was the Good Samaritan" of the neighborhood for the sick and never did she visit unless a basket containing "god things" went with her, and her rule seemed to be never to miss an opportunity to help with gifts and work or both. While she never had children of her own, she mothered and reared several children of related families;Jacob Walter, a nephew; Laura, a great niece, d/o Mary Jane Walls Bell. Lucretia was about 5 ft in height and wieghed about 300 pounds. She died 7 Feb, 1879 and because of her size, a special coffin was required and it was too large to be taken into Little Flock Church, so that her funeral service was delivered at the front door. She is buried in Union or Johnson Cem, southeast of Diona, IL.The goodness of Lucretia, the eldest child of Willam and Jane McKnight Brewer, may be a reflection of the early teachings and example of her mother."
I have other information about this Lucretia's family, if you would like to have it. Good hunting!
