Monroe, I did make a real blunder in regard to a "Marriage Book A" in Wilkinson Co., I am embarassed that I could have made such a big " OOPS".!It is all explainedin message # 2532, dated Jan 7, 2000 underRe: Joel Brewer-Wilkinson Co., Ga., titled, "more corrections and apologies." 35 years ago, abstracting deeds from "Deed bk A."and on that one entry, the last, squeezed on the bottom of the page, I had just briefly written, Bk A. p. 360-327, Nicy Brewer to Hyman Mercer, Feb. 5, 1858.Wit. sgn., B. Johnson and C. T. Johnson. (looked like a marriage record) but it was the bottom of a page of deeds from Bk. A. I'd been copying.I now remember that at the time, I thought Nicy was the widow of Joel Brewer and deeding land to her daughter and son-in-law. .The will was dated 1841-43 andNicy Brewer, still unmarried in 1858, deed's landHyman Mercer.?Since you live in Wilkinson County, maybe you can check out this deed and see if it was a sale, or gift "for love and affection".Could this Nicy have been Joel's wife, and if they had daughter, Nicy, maybe she had died earlier?
