I have not been able to find much on this person and still have not been able to determine if he is somehow related; I feel strongly that there is a connection.
I found Jonathan Brewers b.~1799 NY living in Oneonta, Otsego Co., NY in 1860 with who is probably his wife Abigail, and probably his son Edmund. Abigail was b.~1794 NY and Edmund was b.~1830 NY.
Something else that is bothersome is that 3 of my Dunhams gave their sons the name Morell but I've yet to figure out why. I know it is a suname that I continually find in the surrounding areas (Davenport, Maryland, Worcester, Middlefield, etc.) but not the connection.
Let me start over.
My 4th g-Uncle, Henry Dunham, is recorded in the Maryland/Schenevus (Otsego Co., NY, like a stones throw from Davenport) records as having married "Dorothy Brewer Ones" on April 24, 1844. BUT all other records I find show him as having married in 1844 to Dorothy Wilbur b.1814 d.1894. I am thinking that Dorothy "Dotty" m.1 Ones; m.2 Henry Dunham.
Then as I continue my search, I find that Henry and Dorothy moved to Oneonta around 1845 from the town of Maryland. There they had children: Pennbrooke, Albina, Flora, Emeline, and Charles.
In 1859 Henry dies; I find Dotty still in Oneonta, living with children Flora, Emma, and Charles. AND in the same town, Pennbrooke is living with Jonathan Brewers, Abigail, and Edmund. Pennbrooke is not listed as a farm hand or a domestic; so I have to wonder if he is living with Dotty's family or ex in-laws.
Does anyone know of any connection to the Dunhams, Wilburs, or Ones of the area that might have existed between the Brewers?
The year after Henry died, also living with Dotty was an Isaac Arnold b.~1840 and possibly his wife, Cora Linn Arnold b.~1842.
I just find it odd that Henry's wife was originally listed as "Dorothy Brewers Ones" but later as Dorothy M. Wilbur,... if anything, I would have thought I'd find her middle initial to be "B."
