Hello, I saw your posting.I caught the Brewer marriage info from Hinds, Co., MS.I am looking for the Brewer family that had several marriages recorded in Hinds Co., MS. in the 1830's. A Jeremiah Brewer m. a Mary Heath that I am interested in.I have some family; Callender, Heath, Terry, and others that were in Hinds area of Ms.They inter- married back and forth.I think I found on Rootsweb World Tree they are children of a George Brewer from SC/NC.
I have a copy of an 1851 letter where my Callender ancestor writes his brother then in Grimes County, Tx. and he asks, "have you seen Jerrie Brewer?"Stating he left for Texas a month before and hadn't been heard from since. The brother in Texas had gone there from Jefferson County/Copiah Counties in Ms. about 1845 with his wife and children, when all the colonization was going on.The person writing the letter died suddenly just after that by only 3 months at age 29/30.He asks about other persons of their family in the letter.Someone in Texas found it among the things of a recently deceased person in 2001; and shared it with me.Here are the couples I am interested in: 1) Alexander W.Callender and wife Lucinda N. Heath - author of the letter 2) Jeremiah Brewer m. Mary Heath 3) Isaac Callender m. Lycurgus Heath
I am finding that all these girls are sisters and children of John Walderon Heath and wife Mary Hill Harvey.Anything that might connect your Texas Brewer family to these in Ms. would be great?Thank you.
