Looking for identity of John and Mary Brewer of Dutchess County, NY who were Loyalist.John enlisted with the British 10/12/1777 and died soon after. His widow Mary filed a claim for lost property with the Loyalist Claims Commission in 1787, giving her r4esidence as Cataurqui township(Ontario?).She stated she had four sons who had served under Colonel Beverly Robinson, now all living in the King's dominions, and and daughter Sally Tilney, location unknown.
I have found an Abraham, Tunis, and John Brewer listed in the regiments of Colonel Beverly Robinson.I beleive the fourth son was named Cornelius.
A John and Cornelius Brewer/Brower were transported to New Brunswick and settled near Sunbury.John appears to have died in 1817, leaving a son John, born in 1791, who married Elizabeth Day in 1816, in York Cty, NB.Cornelius married Rebecca Burt about 1784 and had twelve children, not all identified, but apparently they had a son John born about 1787-8, Cornelius, born about 1790, Jacob born about 1793,Caroline born about 1795, Mary born about 1797, and James born about 1800.
John, born 1787-8, married Catherine Fletcher 3/21/1815 in York Cty, NB. They had sons George born by 1816, Charles, William, and a daughter all born before 1822, then a son John Allen born 3/8/1825 in Woodstock, New Brunswick, another unnamed child, then Ann born about 1830, Benjamin born about 1834, and then Daniel Fletcher, born about 1837.
John and Catherine Fletcher Brower apparently moved from Woodstock, New Brunswick, to Maine, and then possibly to Ontario.
John Allen Brower and his brother Daniel Fletcher Brower moved to Colorado in 1872.John Allen had married Matilda Lapham, widow of Adam Wishart, in 1865, in Sarnis, Ontario.Daniel Fletcher married a woman named Adelia in Canada.Daniel died 10/17/1883 in Ouray County, Colorado and his widow remarried a man named Patterson.
John Allen Brower lived in Ula, Custer Cty, Colorado, until 1882, then moved to Delta County, establishing a ranch near Cory.
I am descendant from John Allen Brower's daughter Isabelle who married Fred Ray Burritt in 1887, through their son Frank, born 1893, who married Echo Margaret Smith in 1922, and whose daughter Margaret Lucile, born 1927, married Ralph Orville Bryan in 1948, and was my mother.
Looking for connections.
