What are the dates for Isham Brewer? What Lewis Brewer Sr. are you referring to? I descend from Lewis Brewer and Agatha Holland of Grayson County, Virginia. Lewis' daughter Nancy Brewer born February 27, 1792 married John Howell in Grayson County, Virginia March 12, 1811 and they were in White county, TN by August of 1812. The Cole family of Grayson County is associated with the Isom/Isham family, and the mention of Isham Brewer I found interesting. We now suspect that Ambrose Brewer born 1753 to be a brother to Lewis Brewer. That would indicate that Lewis was the son of Howell Brewer. I have no information on the known children of Howell Brewer, but he would have to have been born about 1720-1730. I am wondering if he died and if his widow then married a Russell? Lewis Brewer is said to have had a Russell Step-father around the time he was 14 or 15 years old. I do know that Ambrose Brewer's wife was a Russell, that William Holland, father of John Hollon, is said to have married Rebeckah Russell, and that Phillip Russell Sr is said to have married a Ms/Mrs. BREWER. Also in Ashe County, N.C. a Henry Brewer born about 1762 had a son named RUSSELL Brewer who married Nancy B. Toliver, dau. of John Toliver and Tabitha HOWELL (John Howell's of White Co. TN AUNT!). Ambrose Brewer was apparently in Hawkins County, TN in 1830 living near the Cope's, one of whom married Sarah Holland, sister of William Holland, and my ancestor Agatha (Holland) Brewer of Grayson County, VA. So, there are two other possible sons for Howell Brewer: Lewis Brewer and Henry Brewer of Ashe County, North Carolina (father of Russell Brewer)...I'd love to hear from you about these Brewers, as it seems Nancy (Brewer) Howell had some other relatives in the White County, TN area that I was previously unaware of.
