The book I'm referring to is "Early Settlers of Mississippi as taken from Land Claims in the Mississippi Territory" by Walter Lowrie, who is the Editor of the American State Papers, Vol. I.So we are talking about the same reference material. This "ANIMAP" program sounds interesting. Can you tell me how to get it?
Refering to my "Quantam Leap" - GA is always on my mind when I'm studying this(sounds like a song ), but as I told you before, I've been having to work backwards from Louisiana to NC to Virginia through GA.My "great unknown" is in GA.The knowns are in VA, NCand LA (or MS, whichever state it works out to be).
If I only knew where Ellender Brewer, my George's firstborn was born, then we could probably put a definite finger on it.It was either NC or GA.
In a post by Doris Ryan to Genforum, #6635, she talks about Greenberry Brewer. She mentions that "Geo and Hannah Thompson Brewer migrated with Thompsons, Ricks and Kendricks (& possible other Brewers) from Chatham area abt 1800.They stopped for a time in GA..."If we check for these other families in the census records of GA, maybe we'll find him easier.
