I don't research this family (my aunt did), but I'll share what I have.Maybe it will help with your book.
Pleasant Brewer was born in 1800 in North Carolina. He married Elizabeth Seals (d.o. Peter) circa 1820 in Hawkins County, TN.Pleasant died March 5, 1871 in Grapevine, TN (now Cumberland Co.)His children were Russell and Pleasant Burton Brewer.
Pleasant Brewer said he was raised by Ambrose Brewer (1753-1845), the son of Howell Brewer (1722-1770), and about the age of 14 was taken by kinfolk to Hawkins County, TN, where he grew to manhood.Census and land records show that Ambrose and Drury Brewer lived side by side in North Carolina.Elijah Brewer bought land next to (father) Drury in NC.In 1816, Ambrose Brewer took his family to Hawkins County.
Pleasant married his wife, and became a member of the Richarson Creek Baptist Church, which [was] still active in 1990, and just a few miles upstream from the land he owned, on what is now known as War Creek (Rev. War battle w/indians).Pleasant was in later years a minister of that denomination.
In 1834, Pleasant Brewer sold his land in Hawkins County to Howell Cobb Brewer, son of Ambrose (Hawkins Co., book 16, pg 393) 100 acres for $150.Ambrose Brewer was a witness to the Deed.Pleasant joined his brother, Elijah, in Blount County, TN, buying 200 acres on Whites Creek.
Good luck!
