Clyde F. Brewer, 88, of Clinton, TN, passed away Friday morning, January 30, 2009.
Clyde was a member of Second Baptist Church, having served as a deacon and on several committees. He was retired from the Atomic Energy Commission, Union Carbide, now DOE.
He also owned Brewer Hardware for 40 years. He was a WWII Veteran, awarded the Purple Heart for wounds received in the Battle of the Bulge, being in four major battles in Europe.
Clyde was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Hattie Brewer; sister, Edith Trent; brothers, Bill Brewer and Tom Brewer.
Surviving are his wife, Jean Brewer; son, G. Duan Brewer and wife, Sid; grandson, Jason Braden and wife, Maria; great grandchildren, Megan, Bryce, Cailey, and Maddie; and several nieces and nephews.
The body will lie in state for family and friends until 2 p.m., on Sunday, February 1, 2009, with services to follow in the chapel at Holley-Gamble Funeral Home in Clinton, with the Rev. George Williams and Rev. Mike Thompson officiating.
Graveside services will follow at Grandview Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Second Baptist Church Building Fund, 777 Public Safety Drive, Clinton, TN 37716.
