Information regarding the children of Burwell Brewer & Elizabeth Patrick of Oglethorpe Co GA from the book:Ninety Four Years,Agnes Brewer Paschall (1776-1869)by son George Paschall (followed by notes by me)
****************** Agnes Brewer was born in 1776 in North Carolina in the "narrows of the Yadkin", the daughter of Burrell Brewer (whose father came from England) & Elizabeth Patrick (whose father came from Ireland). Elizabeth Patrick's parents Mr Patrick & Miss Milligan (Scotch ancestry) packed up their stuff in 1784, brought their nine sons, one daughter, son in law Burwell Brewer & his brother George Brewer to Wilkes (now Oglethorpe Co GA).The only brother of Elizabeth Patrick Brewer named in the book is Milligan Patrick.

NOTES BY ME
The information online regarding Burwell Brewer & Elizabeth Patrick's ages and that of their children varies wildly--lots of guesswork is posted on the internet as FACT.So I decided to do some research.I believe that the Brewer children were much younger that what many postings say and therefore, Elizabeth Patrick Brewer was much younger than these postings say.
1)Sarah Brewer Sojourner--born before 1776--because she was older than Agnes. In Oglethorpe Co Ga Annual Returns, there is a distribution to Bridges Sojourner, legatee of Burwell Brewer.
2)Adelia Brewer Boyd--born before 1776--because she was older than Agnes. I strongly suspect that her name was actually Delilah (rather than Adelia).Delilah Brewer married 1795 Oglethorpe Co Ga to John Boid.In 1850, Delilah Boyd, age 80 (born 1770), is listed in the Charleston County SC census.In1860, Delilah Boyd, age 93 (born 1767), is listed in the Sumter Co SC census.
3)Patrick Brewerborn 1772-1775He married 1793 Wilkes Co Ga to Milly Reeves--men were generally at least 18 when they married so he was born before 1775;if he were born before 1772, then he would have been listed on the Wilkes County tax digest in the 1780's & early 1790's but he is NEVER listed (Burwell is).In 1797, he is listed in the Wilkes Co GA tax digest. In 1801, William Brewer is appointed administrator of the estate of Patrick Brewer, deceased (Oglethorpe Co)
4)Agnes Brewer Paschall(1776-1869) married George Paschall in 1802 Oglethorpe Co Ga; lived in Lumpkin Co GA; received Revolutionary War Widow pension.
5)William Brewer (b.1778--living 1860) 1800 Oglethorpe Co Ga census (listed next door to Samuel Bo(w)ling who married sister Susanna) Wm Brewer 2m<10 (brothers James Brewer age 10 & Burwell Bledsoe Brewer age 8 ??) 1m16-26 (William age 22) 2f10-16 (sisters Rebecca & Elizabeth?) 2f16-26(sisters Elizabeth & Agnes?) Census:1800, 1820, 1830 Oglethorpe Co Ga; 1840-1860 Clarke Co GA There is another William Brewer listed in the 1800 Oglethorpe Co census but he & his wife are both over 45 years old. I see numerous reports that Burwell Brewer had a son William "born about 1758"--definitely believe that is a different William!
6)Nancy Brewer Brittain(b.1779-living 1850)--gave her age as 71 in the 1850 Perry Co AL census She married George Brittain in 1800 Oglethorpe Co GA.
7)Susanna Brewer-Bowling-Bowling(b.1780-1782)--married 1st husband Samuel Bowling in 1797--so she was born in 1782 or earlier (to be 15 at marriage);in the 1830 Clarke Co Ga census her age is 40-50 (born 1780-1790).Combining these: birthdate 1780-1782 Susan Brewer md Samuel Bowling 1797 Oglethorpe Co GA 1800 Oglethorpe Co GA census:Samuel Boling1m26-45 1f16-26 1m<10 Henry Bowling: census--1820, 1830 Clarke Co Ga; 1840 Sumter Co AL (he left a will) Throughout the 1810's & 1820's, Henry Bowling paid taxes in Clarke Co Ga for himself and the orphans of Samuel Bowling.(He was their uncle and stepfather)
8)John Brewer (b.1783-1785) In 1804 , John Brewer, Rebecca Brewer, James Brewer & Burwell Bledsoe Brewer, minor orphans of Burwell Brewer of Oglethorpe Co Ga signed up for the 1805 Georgia Land Lottery. (so they were all born after 1783--to be under 21 (minors) In 1806, James Brewer & Burwell Brewer, minor orphans of Burwell Brewer of Oglethorpe Co Ga signed up fo the 1807 Georgia Land Lottery--I think John has turned 21 and is therefore no longer eligible.
9)Elizabeth Brewer Paschall(b.1780-1789)--married John H Paschall in 1804 Oglethorpe Co GA--so she was born in 1789 or earlier (to be 15 at marriage); in the 1830 Clarke Co Ga census her age is 40-50 (born 1780-1790). Census:1820-1830 Clarke Co GA; 1840 Sumter Co AL
10)Rebecca Brewer Lewis (b.1789--living 1850)--gave her age as 61 in the 1850 Burke Co Ga census.(unconfirmed postings say she was the widow of Abel Lewis)
11)James Brewer (b.1790) In 1806, James Brewer & Burwell Brewer, minor orphans of Burwell Brewer of Oglethorpe Co Ga signed up fo the 1807 Georgia Land Lottery--so they were born after 1785) In the Oglethorpe Co deed books there is a record from 1813 regarding James Brewer "age 23" and his military service.
12)Burwell Brewer (b.early 1790's) In 1806, James Brewer & Burwell Brewer, minor orphans of Burwell Brewer of Oglethorpe Co Ga signed up fo the 1807 Georgia Land Lottery--so they were born after 1785) Burwell B Brewer is listed in the 1830 Hancock Co Mississippi census:1m5-101m30-401f30-40 The Paschall book states that this Burwell lived in Bay of St Louis Louisiana; actually, Bay of St Louis is in Hancock Co Mississippi (which is on the Louisiana border)
Based on these dates, it is probable that Burwell Brewer & Elizabeth Patrick married about 1768;and Elizabeth was born between 1748 & 1753.If she were born before 1748, she would be too old to have had Burwell Bledsoe Brewer in abt 1792.
