Kermit Castle, 85, of Kyles Ford, TN, went to be with the
Lord suddenly at home, on Monday, January 10, 2011. He was
born October 4, 1925.
He was saved at Unicoi Church at an early age. He later
joined Kyles Ford Baptist Church where he remains a member.
He worked at Ross Implement Company in Rogersville, drove
a city bus in Kingsport, worked for the Hancock County
Highway Department, was self-employed as a machinery
operator and was a deputy at the Sneedville Jail.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Simon and Nishie
Brewer Castle; his wife, Stella Anderson Castle; a brother,
Bee Castle. of Kyles Ford; and a special friend, Ora Seal,
of Sneedville, TN.
Survivors include daughters and sons-in-law, Linda and
Donnie Lawson, of Eidson, TN, and Phyllis and Wayne Wolfe,
of Morristown, TN; son and daughter-in-law, Lynn and
Shirley Castle, of Rogersville, TN; grandchildren, Greta
Jones and husband Jeff, of Rogersville, TN, Chad Lawson
and wife Wendi, of Rogersville, TN, Damon Lawson, of
Eidson, TN, and Tonya Sipe and husband Charlie, of IL;
step-granddaughter, Bretta Wolfe, of Bean Station, TN;
great-grandchildren, Dylan Jones, Hannah, Jared, Ethan and
Chloe Lawson, and Johnathan and Riley Sipe; brothers and
sisters-in-law, Phillip and Faye Castle, of Kingsport, TN,
Paul and Faye Castle, of Eidson, TN, and Billy and Carolyn
Castle, of Eidson, TN; and sister and brother-in-law,
Joyce and Robert Winstead, of Rogersville, TN.
The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., on
Thursday, January 13, 2011, at the McNeil Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held at 8 p.m., on Thursday,
January 13, 2011, at the McNeil Funeral Home Chapel, in
Sneedville, with the Rev. Jerry Lawson, the Rev. Glen
Bradley, and the Rev. Robert Mallory officiating.
Interment will be held at 2 p.m., on Friday, January 14,
2011, in the Anderson Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers
will be Chad Lawson, Damon Lawson, Charlie Sipe, Jeff
Jones, Rick Castle, and Dustin Castle. Serving as honorary
pallbearers will be Frankie Bowlin and Clem Seals.
