Oops, posted this to the wrong person, so now it's copy and paste. :-)If you have tied your family back to Jonas Brewer, which it seems this other person may have, the info below is a short outline of the Brewer line Jonas is attached to.The story of Jonas and the AR Peace Society is in a post in some of this conversation, I think.May have to search around for it, think I got lost as I was going through the postings of the last 7 days.
Cassie, I think we have conversed previously as you were in the beginning stages of your genealogy research on the Brewer family. Since you have now found that your descend from this Jonas Brewer and Margaret "Peggy" Brewer, you can go to different websites and see your ancestral line. Jonas' father was George Washington Brewer, his father-John Lanier Brewer,Jr; his father-John Lanier Brewer; and his parents George G. Brewer and Sarah Lanier. This Brewer family is fairly well documented on Rootsweb.com, which is a free site.
If you google the Lanier family, I think you may be able to access history on that line. I don't remember all about it, but they were a very musically talented family. In France and then in England, they were musicians in the King's court.
Margaret Brewer, Jonas' wife, descends through Solomon Brewer brother to Jonas' father George Washington. Margaret died 1876 and is buried in the Sharp Cemetery, Stone Co., AR.
There are several family files on ancestry that has this Brewer family listed. Just remember that we are all human and there are sometimes mistakes. Sometimes people copy from another file without checking it out. I normally look at the family files, then try to locate proof. That is one reason I still visit Rootsweb as some of the researchers note their research on the file.
