My great grandmother'swas born Harriett Augustus (Agusta) Hanson. She was born abt. 1870. Her marriage registration in the NB archives has her place of birth as Keswick, NB. She married Samuel E. Brown (b. 1862, Fredricton Junction, NB) in July 1889 at the age of 20 as per marriage info in the NB Archives. The only Harriett (Hattie) A. Hanson I can find was the daughter of Sarah Ann Hanson, spinster. I believe this to be the right person as her date of baptism is 17 June 1870 which coincides with her age on her marriage registration. The baptism took place in Bright, NB. I also found a Harriett Augustus Hanson down as the daughter of Levi Hanson and Lucy Jane Jones at the "familysearch.com" site. Baptism is same date. However, in the NB census of 1871 there is no mention of Levi ever having a daughter with this name. When my g. grandmother married Samuel Brown she had her maiden name down as Brewer and her parents as William and Martha. The use of the two last names makes sense as we know she was adopted as a small child. Also three of her children have her maiden name down as Hanson while the other two have her maiden name down as Brewer. With this I know Hattie A. Brewer and Hattie (Harriett) A. Hanson are one and the same person. Also in the NB Anglican Parish of Bright I find Sarah Ann Hanson as having the following children: Mary Hanson b. 1861, down as illig. c/o Sarah Ann Hanson Another Hanson child. b. 1866 parents as Sarah Ann Hanson and John Hanson. Harriett Augustus Hanson, daughter of Sarah Ann Hanson (spinster)private baptism 17 June 1870. My mother tells me her grandmother Hattie had a twin sister. What I am trying to find out here is "did Hattie have a twin sister and if so who adopted her". Was William Brewer her adopted father or was he by chance her real father? How many children did Sarah Ann Hanson have? Where all the children given up for adoption? Sarah's father died in 1873 so it appears that Hattie was probably given up after his death. Did Sarah ever marry? I know many of the Brewers and Hanson's in that area are related to each other. Any info would be appreciated.
