Twenty-Eighth Brigance Reunion Scheduled at Waldron, AR, June 16 & 17, 2007
This reunion will be hosted by the descendants of John Henry Brigance (1840, TN-1920, AR)but all BRIGANCE descendants and their friends are welcome..
Saturday (16th): The group will gather at the Cypress Barn Lodge were several will be spending the night . The Lodge is located on Hwy. 71 (Waldron By-pass and Junction of Hwy 71 and 80). Reservation can be made at the Cypress Barn Lodge by calling 1-479-634-3451.
Campground Cemetery Tour at 9:00 a.m.: Since the last reunion several of James Miner BRIGANCE's descendants have made arrangements to place a larger Georgia gray granite memorial stone in the Campground Cemetery in memory of James Miner and his family. The cemetery is located about 115 miles (a 2-hour plus driving time) south of Waldron and just outside the west city limits of Winthrop, AR
Several have expressed an interest in making a trip to visit the cemetery and memorial stone as one of the activities of this reunion. Thus, several will be car pooling from the Lodge at 9:00 a m. Saturday for this cemetery tour Including a stop for lunch, this tour will take at least 5 hours.
Taylor Cemetery Tour at 2:30 p.m.: The tour to the Taylor Cemetery will depart from the Lodge at 2:30 pm. The Taylor Cemetery is where John H. & Mary Ann (Tipton) (Musgrove) Brigance and several of their descendants are buried. On the way to and from the cemetery this tour will include stops at several landmarks in the Tate community where the Brigances settled and have lived since the Civil War.
Duncan Cemetery Tour: No specific time is scheduled to tour the Duncan Cemetery located in the south part of Waldron. Anyone interested in touring this cemetery should contact Linda (BRIGANCE) APPLEGARTH or Dennis BRIGANCE about touring this cemetery at a mutually convenient time.
Saturday Evening: A group dinner is NOT scheduled Saturday evening because of other activites and some choosing to have dinner at Turkey Track.
A group will be departing from the Lodge at 6:00 p.m. for the every-popular "Turkey Track" (bluegrass music festival) south of Waldron.
Others will be going to Turkey Track on their own and at their own leisure.
Others can spend the evening visiting with "cousins" at the Lodging or touring places of interest in Waldron..
Sunday (17th): Sunday morning breakfast is at your leisure and on your own. Why not invite a "cousin" or two to join you?
New Waldron H. S. Cafeteria: Sunday activities will be at the new High.School Cafeteria located on Highway 80 a short distance west of Hwy. 71 and the Cypress Lodge.
Genealogy Sessions: Those planning to attend the genealogy sessions should be at the H.S Cafeteria Sunday morning no later than 9:30 a.m. Those not attending the genealogy sessions should begin gathering at the Cafeteria at 10:35 a.m.
The one-hour session will include several questions and topics of interest from the last two reunions plus updates and research topics planned for this year.
If you received a copy of the Brigance Genealogy Chart at the last reunion session, please bring it as it will be helpful to refer to during questions and discussion in this year's session.

Lunch: Potluck lunch is scheduled for 12:30 p.m at the Waldron High School Cafeteria. Some will be bringing food and others will be making financial contributions to cover the cost of the food.
