I have been doing some really extensive research on the Bright Family. No one has been able to find the parents of Andrew Jackson Bright, who was born in 1847.I found a 1870 census done in New Albany, Indiana which list Jackson Bright (23) born 1847 living with Mary J. Allen (41) , James M Allen (44), William Bright (14), Sarah F. Bright (12), Charlotte Paris (9), Isabella Allen (12), Francis Marsh (20), Lucinda Marsh (25) and Rosella Marsh (9 months).
I then found a 1860 census from Harrison County, Indiana listing Mary I. Paris (I think the I. should be a J.) (34), George Paris (50), William Bright (5), and Sarah Bright (2).After I did a search on these names I found a Marriage Certificate for Mary Janet Bright and George Paris.I imagine that Charlotte was born in 1861, which would bring her age to 9 years old and the 10 year difference has brought the ages of William and Sarah to approximately 10 years older.
Now I have found a 1880 Census done in Louisville, Kentucky for a mixture of Brights and Allens living together.G.W. Bright (born 1816) is a grandfather with children and grandchildren living with him.The names are G.W. Bright (64), Daughter Sarah J. Allen (38) widowed, Sarah's Daughter's Emma B. Allen (15), Lucy A. Allen (11), Sarah's sons Thomas B. Allen (8), Geo. W. Allen (6), and G. W.'s son Thomas B. Bright (30).Sarah's birthplace was Indiana and the year was 1842.I just thought it was a little too coincidental that these two family names are connected again.I am hoping that someone can help me make a connection.I am also hoping that G.W. Bright is possibly an uncle to Andrew Jackson Bright. If we could find Mary Janet's maiden name, we may be able to find the rest of the members.
My Grandfather is George Leo Boyd Bright the son of Andrew Jackson Bright.I do know that Andrew married Lucy Plue, and she also married more than once.Andrew died in Louisville, in 1905.I would appreciate any other assistance with finding his family.
