In the 1850 OH Census, Morrow Co., North Bloomfield Twp., page 402, there is listed the family of an Abraham Brillhart as follows:
747/757Abraham Brilhart, 55, male, Farmer, value of real estate $750, born PA
Elizabeth, 49, female, born PA
Jacob, 24, male, born PA
Abraham, 22, male, born PA
Elizabeth, 16, female, born PA
Since my ancestor Peter Brillhart and his son Valentine were also in Morrow Co. at this time, I have been trying to determine a connection.I have recently acquired the Civil War Pension Records for the son Abraham shown above. This Abraham served in Co. D, 136 Regiment, Ohio National Guards from 2 May 1864 to 31 August 1864.He married Elizabeth Bucher, 24 Oct 1850 in Morrow Co., OH and had at least the following children (These children were listed as living on a pension form dated 15 Jan 1898):Margaret b. 30 May 1852, Jeremiah B., b. 1 Dec 1857, and Edward b. 25 Dec 1865.In the 1890s, Abraham was living in Bourbon, Marshall Co., IN and is buried in Parks Cemetery, Bourbon, IN
Information gleaned from the Marshall Co., IN Gen Web site indicates that daughter Margaret married in Marshall Co., IN, Henry B. Worster (or possibly Whorster).
It appears that Jeremiah B. married first a Lizzie and that they divorced 19 Sept 1896.In Allen Co., IN29 Sep 1902 there is recorded the marriage of Jerry B. Brillhart to Mary E. Parrin (Book 25 page 344).I don't have positive proof that this is the same Jeremiah (Jerry) Brillhart.
Also from the 1896 Deaths Abstracted from the Bouron Mirror
30 June Brillhart, Edward, son Ronald died.
I am posting this information in hopes that perhaps someone will recognize this family.I would like to make contact if you do.I'm still trying to determine if there is a connection between this family and my ancestors.
