Brindleys involved in the Hundred Years War: John de Brundeley (Brindley) went with the Black Prince to serve as one of his archers at the battle of Poitiers in 1356. On his return he was made constable and keeper of the Prince's Beeston Castle in Cheshire.
His grandsons, William and Huchen (Hugh) went with the Earl of Buckingham to France in 1380/81. They were at the Siege of Nantes.
