Linda, there are many problems with the Brindley family line that is not supported by evidence.
1.Story: Richard was the father of Frazier - While it may be true, there is no evidence to prove if he was a brother, father or other relation. The earliest we have been able to find Richard and Frazier together is in 1790's when they both were on jury duty in 1792-1794 years.I am not saying Richard was not the father of Frazier, but no evidence nor proof has been obtained that shows they were. This story was started several years ago and has grown legs and is getting bigger every year.
2.The name was not spelled Brindley until the 1790's.Prior to then it was spelled such as:Brendley, Brenlee, Brinlee, Brinley, Brindle.
3.Some have written Richard "Dickie" Brindley.Again, nothing in history shows "Dickie" and appears to have been part of the story that has grown legs.
I have been researching the Brindley family for about 45 years and have asked many to provide data as to "Dickie" and to provide any data showing the name of Brindley was used prior to the 1790's and no one has been able to do so, yet.
There was a publication written "The Old Stage Coach Road" and it also does not use the name of "Dickie".After the author died, others took over, created an addendum to the publication and added "Dickie" to it.
I have decided to release a Brindley CD within the next few weeks that is a results of the 45 years of research along with the join efforts of Helen Brindley.
