My line descends from Epraim Pennington and Mary Brockett's son Ephraim2; via his son Ephraim3, b. 1689 in NJ, d. 1750 in NC, his son Benejah, and Benejah's son Micajah. It was Benejah's grandson, my gggggrandfather, Edward Pennington, who moved the family into Lee County, VA, near the present-day town of Pennington Gap.
The NJ 1668 Ephraim's brothers included a Timothy, b. in 1684, when Mary would have been 38. LDS records show Timothy as born in Newark, Essex, NJ (I've also seen Newark listed as CT.) He married Mary MacAllister (sp?) and died 1749 in Mendham, Morris, NJ.
Interestingly, my 1668 Ephraim2's sons included a Timothy and an Elijah, b. in NJ. The names are absent in the next generation, but my 1689 Ephraim3's son Benejah named one of his sons Timothy. Benejah's son Micajah (my line) had sons who included my Edward, and brothers Elijah, Timothy and Levy.
