A couple of years back I did some research into the Brockets of Lesmahagow, Lanarkshire. I visited the cemetery and Netherfauld House there and took a couple of amateur photos. I also gathered a few wills from the General Register Office for Scotland (but late 17th century Scottish handwriting is very different from English handwriting of the time and I have struggled trying to decipher them). My other notes are not in very good order either, I’m afraid, but with time I might be able to extract some info of interest to Robert Brocket’s descendants. I believe, as Richard Nash said (October 17 posting to this forum) that the Scottish Brocketts sprang from the same stock as the Yorkshire Broket clan, some of whom went south to Hertfordshire in the 15th century, but only DNA comparisons of living descendants will confirm that.
