I too am descended from Robert Brocket of Netherfauld House, son of William Brocket, who had seven children. You probably know this, but William, Robert, and Robert Jr., all spelled Brocket with only one T.It was the children of Robert Jr. who added the second T, including my g-g-grandfather, Professor Robert Longden Brockett, born 6 Oct 1816 in Virginia. He was a college professor at Western Maryland University in the 1870's when his daughter Emma met and married my g-grandfather, Dixie Isherwood. Dixie and Emma had my grandmother, Isabella Irene Isherwood who married Dr. Ballard Edelen Galloway, my Dad's father, in 1915.
I have seen some of the buildings in Alexandria and the street, Brockett Alley is still there.I have also been to the graves of Robert Brocket and Annabella Burnet in the Alexandria Cemetery. There is a Brocket Family Tree which was drawn (like an actual tree) in 1930, listing all the descendants up to that date, including my Dad, born in 1916. It starts with William, born about 1720 in Lanarkshire, died 25 Aug 1790.I'm still searching for his wife's name but it indicates that she died 15 Nov 1792.
I can send you a GEDCOM file of all the Brocket/Brockett descendants if you'd like.
