Can anyone claim these Bronaughs?
I was in Laclede County, MO, searching for the grave of John J. Moser, who died in 1894. I found it in a pasture with 5 other graves. Four of the graves had toppled headstones and two had missing headstones. All were covered by high grass and probably unknown to the world. One grave was Sarah, wife of John J. Paine. Sarah’s maiden name was Bronaugh and after she died, J.J. Paine married the widow of Robert W. Mayfield’s brother. Another grave was Charles Johnson who married Sarah N. Paine (daughter of Sarah Bronaugh Paine) (don’t know whether 1st or 2nd marriage). There is a strong connection of all these people to Robert W. Mayfield. Inscriptions are:
