Lehigh Co Brong Family John Nicholas Brong came to America from Germany in the early part of the 18thc. With him came his wf and Children, amon whom were George and Stophel. The father was killed by Indians. Stophel enlisted in the Rev.After the war he located in Northampton now Monre Co. Rev. Wm H. Brong, a minister of the Reformed Church traces his family line to Stophel. George Brong, a son of John Nickle Brong, was a soldier in the Rev. He was the father of the following children, Sallie, John, George, Peter, buried at Allentown, Caroline, buried at Rittersville, Catharine, Susanna,, and Elizabeth
John George Brong, son of George He married Maria George of Northampton Co. Mrs. Brong was raised by Casper Moyer, of Hanover twp. Children; Owen, born 1828, and he had (Sarah, Reuben, Matilda, William David), Christina married 1st to Philip Dietz, 2nd to James Hahn, Tilghman, Levi, had children ( George, Mary, Milton, Minnie and Emma).
Luzerne Co Brong, Jacob, of Fairview twp was born in Chestnut Hill, Monroe Co, Aug 5, 1846, s/o John and Lydia (Gilbert) Brong. The father was a farmer and company store keeper, and he reared a family of three children, of whom Jacob was the 2nd oldest. Jacob moved with his family to Weatherly, Carbon Co. He married Sept 1859 to Anna M., d/o Andrew and Elisabeth (Whitehead) Graver, of Weissport, Carbon Co. Mr and Mrs Brong had children; W. Albert, Harry E.,and Florence. In 883 they celebrated their golden wedding anniversey.
