The family lines I've seen have: 1. Robert Brough b. c. 1695 Eng. 2. Robert Brough ch. 6 Feb 1735 Hessle by Hull m. Kingston Upon Hull, Jane Carlill/Carlile 3. Robert Brough ch. 30 Sep 1767 Hessle by Hull m. Kingston Upon Hull Mary Wilkinson 4. John Brough ch. 20 Aug 1800 Kingston Upon Hull
The back and forth between Hessle by Hull and Kingston Upon Hull doesn't make sense. I'm willing to bet that Hessle by Hull had churches you could get married in not just christened.
I've also seen a Carlile genealogy that has Robert Brough and Jane Carlill/Carlile having only one child a daughter.
There are also lots of John and Robert Broughs. My original post was to verify that I had the right Robert Brough and Mary as the parents of my John Brough.
I'll check out the Brough Family Orginization, but a quick glance tells me those are Staffordshire lines and so far all my Broughs are in Yorkshire.
