Bonjour Peggy:
Minerva "Minnie" was the daughter of Ernest Broussard and wife Eunice Landry; Ernest was the son of Francois Broussard and wife Oreline (Aureline) Caruthers (also found as Credeur); Francois was the son of Edmond J Broussard and wife Marie Euphrosine Lacour; Edmond was the son of Louis Claude Broussard and wife Marie Urasie Simon;
Louis Claude was the son of Claude Eloy "Grand" Broussard and his second wife Marie Catherine Trahan;Claude Eloy was the son of Joseph "dit Beausoleil" Broussard and wife Agnes Nanette Thibodeau; Joseph was son of Francois Broussard and wife Catherine Richard.
Many people mistakingly refer to Francois as Jean Francois
Broussard; that mistake was caused by mistaken translation, and unfortunately people won't accept fact that Jean was not a part of his name.
I might point out one other mistake that people still cling to: Francois did not arrive in Acadie from France
on ship l'Oranger. Stephen White disproved that false data several years ago, and Canadian Records in Archives of Canada verify Stephen White was correct is shooting down that mistake.
In case you have missed it, www.cafa.org list all Acadian Family websites and that includes Broussard; another important site is www.GRA2011.org, which contains information on upcoming Great Acadian Awakening.
Mitch
