Hi Justin, I have seen the 1789 Bedford, and know that John Grant was also listed in that year as well.Last week I ordered CDs for the 1783 thru about 1805 Bedford County.A year by year study of tax lists, I have not done in my search for the husband of Eady Brown.I'm hoping to see a Brown man drop off the tax lists in 1787 or 1788 as the known children in Edith's family were born in the following years: George Thomas Brown 1768/1769 Dance Brown 1776/1777 Sarah Brown Mar 9, 1787 Rahab Brown Aug 15, 1789
Edith's husband must have died after Nov 15, 1788 and before June 16, 1789.Since Rahab was b. Aug 15, 1789 (minus 9 months = Nov 15, 1788) and since Edith was in 1789 census as head of household, enumerated June 16th. I have seen some of the later tax censuses (1791, 1793) and Edith is still listed, but she drops out in 1794 when she married John Grant.
Thanks, for info.If I find anything out, I'll pass it on.Maybe it'll help in other studies. Freddy Brown.
