I don't think that I have much additional information that was not in my earlier post.It seems that the first known Hubbard Brown in that family was a son of a William Brown (who left a Will), and that William Brown was a son of a Sheldrake Brown (not to be confused with any of the men in VA who were named Shadrack Brown....and it seems that at least two unrelated Brown families in VA each had two or more men in them with the name "Shadrack").
Note: The two unrelated Brown families that seem to have had two or more men in them named Shadrack Brown are represented by DNA "Group 10" (out of Essex Co., VA) and "DNA "Group 69" (out of Henrico Co., VA).There is not much reason to suspect that Sheldrake Brown was a member of either one of those two unrelated Brown families....but who knows?See more below about the Brown DNA testing project.
We do not know who the father of the referenced Sheldrake Brown was, but Sheldrake had another son who was also named Sheldrake Brown ("Junior"), and that second/younger Sheldrake Brown moved to GA (as did a man who was named Epps/Eppes Brown). If you are a male (versus a female) Brown/Browne in the this overall Brown family, you should take the 37 marker Y chromosome DNA test via the Brown Genealogy Society DNA testing project website. We really need a DNA donor from this family, since that might show a connection to one of the many other "Brown lines" in VA that already have some "DNA representatives."
The marriage of your second/younger Hubbard Brown to a Miss Irby is interesting, since a Hezekiah Brown "Junior" in the above-referenced DNA "Group 10" out of Essex Co., VA was also associated with the Irby family.Hezekiah Brown "Junior" (born about 1759 or so; he was a son of Hezekiah Brown "Senior"....who came to Amelia Co., VA from Essex Co., VA in the 1750s....and Sally unknown) was in the Amelia/Dinwiddie Co., VA area, where he married a Tabitha Irby in the 1780s.They had a son who was named Irby Brown, and Irby Brown married Rebecca Bonner Epps/Eppes.This last couple had a son who was named William Hamlin Brown (born 13 Oct 1824 in Petersburg, VA).I have seen one record that seemed to show a connection between this Irby family and Pittsylvania Co., VA (so who knows.... maybe the above Tabitha Irby was related to your Sarah Irby)?
The sons of the above-referenced William Brown who were named John Brown and Henry Brown married Gaines sisters. There were a couple of other Gaines women who married Brown men in Culpeper Co., VA in the 1700s.While all four of the referenced Gaines women seem to have been from different branches of the same overall Gaines family, we are not sure that those other two Brown men in Culpeper were related in any way to the family of Sheldrake Brown. We know that there were at least five unrelated Brown families in Culpeper Co., VA (proven by the "Brown DNA testing" that has been done so far), so without additional DNA testing, it may be impossible to ever determine just "who belonged to which Brown family."Comments/questions?
