This is my husband's line. His lines goes from John to James Madison I to James Madison II to John Daniel to Florence Eugenia. I think that's right. That can get so confusing with all the James Madisons and John Daniels!
Kiffin Browning told me years ago that John (b. about 1800) died in 1885. I never found out how he knew that or if he even knew if for a fact, although it was stated as so. Frankly, I don't even remember talking to him, it's been that long ago. It almost had to be either on the phone or at a funeral and must have been at the very beginning of my research. There's probably a family Bible in somebody's hands down in Clay County.
You mention the old home place there. Where is it and which family lived there? I'd love to see it. I live in Sylacauga and Browning County... I mean Clay County LOL... is a stone's throw away. I need to make a trip down there soon anyway to see about putting some small bouquets on some of those old graves.
I have the information I have on the family here: http://www.alabama-bound.infohttp://www.alabama-bound.info I don't know how well documented it is. That's something I've been working on off and on for a while. Trying to prove information I got from other folks.
