Hello, I am looking for information on John Browning who was an exector of the will of John Walden Jr of Thomas Co Ga. John died 1/20/1856 in Thomas Co, and the executors of his will were John Browning and Ansel Dekle. Ansel was the son of Thomas Dekle and Wealthy Canady of Effingham/Camden counties in Georgia. His first wife was Margaret Walker whom he married about 1841 in Thomas Co Ga. His second wife was Darien Argene Browning Sibley, widow of Wm Henry Sibley, whom he married in 1867 in Thomas Co Ga.
Darien's father was a John Browning, but was he the John Browning from this will? And who were this John's parents?
I am researching the Hall family. John Walden Jr's first wife was Mary Hall, b abt 1824, daughter of Kindred Hall( b abt 1792/95 Montgomery Co Ga) and Susan Kornegay. Kindred was an heir of, and probably a son of,Juniper Hall Sr. John Walden Jr was born 2/22/1816 in Garrard Co Ky, son of John Walden and Elizabeth Pitts. John Walden Sr was from Caroline Co Va. I don't know why John Jr moved from Ky to Georgia, but his brother Peyton, who married Evaline Thomas, also moved to Thomas Co with him, but was deceased prior to John.Witnesses to John Walden Jr's will were Dr. William H Hall, Francis H Remington, and Augustin H Hansell.
John Walden Jr and Mary Hall had three children - John Kindred, James Augustus, and Mary. John's wife Mary died about 1853/4, after which he married Frances R Ukn, and had another daughter, Frances Ashurst Walden. These children and widow Frances were his heirs.Mary was in the custody of her grandmother, Susan Kornegay Hall, widow of Kindred Hall, who had married Green Hill Chaires of Leon Co Fl, and Frances was in the custody of her mother's sister, Ophelia Osbourne (Osbourne was probably Frances's maiden name, since Fanny age 4 was found with Ophelia and her parents in the 1860 census). The boys were given to the custody of Ansel Dekle.
I am trying to find out who John Browning, co-executor of this will, was, and how he and Ansel Dekle were connected to this family. My Halls (Juniper Hall Sr b 1769, d 1828 Emanuel Co Ga) have ties to Pittsylvania Va and to Maryland. Some of my ancestors were from Cecil Co Md, where it appears that some of the Browning family was found, around 1700 or so.
Any help with these folks would be greatly appreciated.
