I have been in contact with a few more Eudaly relatives. Specifically, two of the sons of his 3rd wife, Mary, two daughters of his 4th wife, Versa, plus two letters from Versa. The oldest son told me that after Joe and Ada divorced that Doris Diane was given back to the agency. This was the first I heard that there was an agency involved. If that is the case, then she may have a different first name, as well as last. However, if given back to the agency, how did Joe know where his adopted daughter lived in 1970?As I think I said somewhere else, Versa told me in a letter that she was on a drive with Joe to visit his sister around the time they first got married (1970) and that he pointed to a house and said "That's where my adopted daughter lives".She asked him no questions, wanting to keep certain things in the past. She does not remember in what city they saw the house. The oldest son also told me that he did not think 1944 was the right year, that he thought 1938/1939 was more like it, which was the time frame Joe's only living sibling told me a few months back.Does that mean my mother was 12/13 years old when she had a baby?A very unsettling thought! Which is why I dismissed it back then. I wonder now, who the father of this baby is? The oldest son also said that Joe was married four times, the 1st was annulled, 2nd to Ada (who he divorced and she died a few years later), 3rd to Mary, 4th to Versa. So, I'm still receiving many bits of conflicting information. Is someone holding out? After reading many stories here and on Adoption.com, I am finding out that many people do NOT give you the whole story or purposely give you not quite right information.So...the search continues.
