You will find there are tons of issues with improperly merged individuals on NFS, especially New England families with a prolific number of LDS descendants. I tend to prefer to do initial research using the old Family Search (with IGI) and the web (with sources of course), then compare that to ancestry.com trees to first establish my connection. Then I use NFS for ordinance info. It's easy to link up to using Roots Magic (my tree software of choice).
I haven't delved into the details of the Brundrett/Beckman lines, it did interest me when I noticed her mother was a Whitney as I have a New England Whitney line as well. It might interest you that this family (descendants of John Whitney & Ruth Reynolds) includes quite a few prominent figures both in US and LDS history. Obviously you're familiar with Newell K. Whitney/Orson F. Whitney. Also David A. Bednar is a descendant. Mike Huckabee, former AR governor is a descendant as well as the wealthy philanthropist and thoroughbred breeder William Collins Whitney.
