I am in awe of the information you and others have made available in connection with the Bryan family.I am hoping that perhaps you have come across my Bryan somewhere along the way.
My great grandmother ROSALIE DUPONT BRYAN was born December 15, 1862 in Macon, Missouri. Her marriage was in Alma, Harlan County, NE. Rosalie's parents are shown to be W. A. BRYAN and M. Clark.Research has shown their full names as being WILLIAM A. BRYAN and Huldy (or Hulda) Minerva Clark.Huldy applied for a widow's Civil War Pension in Oklahoma for his service in the Missouri Home Guard.I have ordered a copy of that record from the National Archives.Unfortunately the children of William and Huldy did not agree on where their father was born (information from census records). Some say Indiana and others New York.I do know they lived in Missouri and Illinois.
My great grandmother Rosalie Dupont Bryan (Thrasher) lived in Missouri, Nebraska, Oklahoma and died in Chautauqua County, Kansas.
My aunt (who is now 84) "seems to recall there was some connection to William Jennings Bryan", but does not know what it was. That information was again given to me by a cousin who is the same age as my aunt.Certainly without additional information that is nothing more than a "rumor".I do know that he made an appearance in Chautauqua County, Kansas - but obviously that could merely be a coincidence.
I apologize for rambling.I have probably made my inquiry impossible to sort through. If you have any suggestions or information I would certainly appreciate hearing your feedback. Thanks!
