I find a few references to Frederick Bryant but no lineage as yet. I completely agree that too many folks have assumed the Bryan/Bryant connection. It is made, however, in several references in the Augusta County records where the same person is referred to as a "Bryan" or "Brian" and one entry later the same person is called a Bryant??? This was NOT COMMON and there are many VA Bryan's who moved to NC, GA, MO and TX and still use "Bryan".
