Here is some more information on the wife of Fred Henry Druhl.
Lets start with Ruth Viola Buffum, Ralph's mother, she was born 5 Sep 1904 and passed away on 19 FEb 1978 in Davenport, Scott Co, Iowa. She married Fred Druhl, son of John and Amelia (Gertz) Druhl, on 7 Mar 1923 in Scott Co, Iowa.
Of their 8 children to include Ralph, the five oldest were born at the family farm outside of Davenport.John Ira, Ralph Fred, Velma Ruth, and Dorothy Amelia are the four prior to 1930.
Ruth's parents were Ira Henry and Sophia J. (Busch) Buffum. They had six children, Bertha J. (b.1903 in Iowa), Ruth Viola (see previous info), Sadie Sarah (b. 1909 in Illinois), Este M. (b. 27 Aug 1914 in Illinois, d. 21 Nov 1991 in Muscatine Co, Iowa), Leona (b. 1917 in Illinois), and Lois (b. 1926 in Iowa).
Ira Henry Buffum and Sophia J. Bush or Busch married about 1902.Ira was born 21 Apr 1879 in Illinois.Sophia was born in 1886 in Iowa.I don't have the dates of when they passed away, but was probably before 1950.
Ira was the only son of Milton and Sophia M. (Snell) Buffum. This family was settled around Zuma and Andalusia, Rock Island co, Illinois for many years.Milton Buffum and Sophia M. Snell were married 27 Mar 1856 in Rock Island Co, Illinois, USA.Their children were Mary E. (b. abt 1858 in Zuma, Rock Island Co, ILL), Cassie M. (b. abt 1862 in Andalusia), Alma J. (b. abt 1864), Elizabeth (b. abt 1867, in Andalusia), Clara (b. 27 Dec 1870 in Andalusia, d. 29 Oct 1947 in Andalusia), Maude (b. abt 1875), Elizabeth (b. abt 1878 in Illinois), Ira Henry (see prior).
Milton Buffum was born on 11 Mar 1831 in Warren, Knox Co, Illinois and passed away on 9 Mar 1905.Sophia M. Snell was born in Sep 1838 in Illinois or Pennsylvania and passed away btw. 1920 and 1930.They were married on 27 Mar 1856 in Rock Island Co, Illinois, USA.
Sophia M. Snell was the daughter of William and Sarah E. Snell.William was born about 1804 in Virginia and Sarah E. was born about 1809 in Ohio. They had six children, Burrell (b. abt 1830 in Ohio), Noah (b. abt 1832 in Ohio), James (b. abt 1837 in Illinois), Sophia M. (see prior), Miranda (b. abt 1844 in Illinois), Maria (b. abt 1853 in Illinois).
Milton Buffum was the son of a prominent figure in the Rock Island Area.He was the son of Jonathan D. Buffum and Sarah Rockwell, one of 9 children.I say prominent because Jonathan Buffum opened his house as a hotel for some of the first workers who built Davenport, one of the first settlers of Rock Island Co (living in Andalusia), and also fought in the Black Hawk war in the 1830s I believe it was with one of his older children (Abel Cooper). The children of Jonathan D. and Sarah Buffum were Hiram W. (b. abt 1816 in Ohio), Abel Cooper (b. 8 Dec 1817 in Ashtabula, Ashtabula Co, Ohio, d. 20 Apr 1903 in Anderson, Shasta Co, California), Seth R. (b. abt 1823 in Ohio, probably Ashtabula), John (b. 1825, d. 1901), Hannah (b. 1826 in Warren, Knox Co, Illinois), Ira (b.abt 1821), Milton (see prior), Mary (B. abt 1835 in Illinois) and Joseph (b. abt 1838 in Illinois).
Jonathan D. Buffum was born 16 Dec 1794 in Charlotte, Vermont and passed away Sep 1848 in Andalusia, Rock Island Co, Illinois.Sarah (Rockwell) Buffum was born abt 1801 in New York and passed away in 1874 in Illinois. They were married on 7 Oct 1816 in Ashtabula, Ashtabula Co, Ohio.
This is where our Buffums link into the overall Buffum genealogy ouit there in a book written and researched by Owen A. Perkins.Jonathan is the son of Stephen and Hannah (Weed) Buffum. Also there is a large Rockwell genealogy out there that I have only recently been able to link into, by taking a few leaps.Sarah Rockwell is one of the children of Joshua Rockwell and Abigail Nabbie Partridge, originally from Connecticut.
According to Early Connecticut Marriages, Early Connecticut Marriages: Sixth Book, Middletown, From Fair Haven Church Records, page 115:Joshua Rockwell, Jr., & Nabby Partridge, June 14, 1795 [p.115].Also Joshua parents are who I believe to be Joshua Rockwell and Rhoda Dowd.
I found info on Joshua and some of his siblings in Ashtabula, Ashatabula Co as early as 1810.The Rockwell genealogy goes all the way back to 1630 when their ancestor immigrated in 1633 to the colonies, settling mostly in Connecticut. The Buffum family goes back quite a ways also to about 1560 prior to the family immigrating to the colonies, settling mostly in Massachusets.
Hope this helps to flesh out some of your information that you have.
