Harmon A. Bunts (1839-1880)
Harmon A. Bunts (aka Bunce, aka Bunch) was born in June of 1839 in Ohio, to parents who were of N.Y.---names not yet known; and died July 4,1893 in Akron, Summit Co.,Ohio.
I have not found Harmon in the 1850 or 1860 census.
During the Am. Civil War Harmon "Bunch" enlisted in the 7th OVI, signing up at Ravena, Portage Co.,O in 8/1862; discharged by surgeon's certificate 2/1863 from Baltimore,MD. Harmon "Bunce" then enrolled in 191st OVI; being mustered out at the end of the war in 9/1865. Harmon A. "Bunts" listed these two tours of duty when applying for a pension.
Probably aft.1865, no record yet found, Harmon m. Mary L. Heller (d/o Adam Heller & Sarah Ann Kunkler). She was b.3/25/1842 PA-d.10/27/1922 Akron.
In 1870 Harmon, carpenter, and Mary, keepshouse, and their one year old son, Marvin, are in Kent, Franklin twp.,Portage Co.,Ohio.
In 1880 Harmon, Mary, Marvin, Louis, Charles, and Edward, are living on North Street, Akron, Summit Co.,OH. They had a boarder, Alvin Bradley,19, residing with them.
There is no recreated 1890 census for Akron, and Harmon d.1893.
Would like to share additional information with collateral relatives and descendants.
