Hi It has taken me awhile to figire out how to get back in here, so sorry it has taken me awhile to answer.
I dont have anything on Franklin (i have him listed as Francis), Joseph and James except below
I never found James in the 1860 Claiborne County, TN of course i could have overlooked them, When i researched this family i did it by microfilm and went through it frame by frame. I lost Joseph after 1880 Franklin is gone after 1860 but his family is listed in 1880 with Nancy A being in the household of James Roark the Children James Mary E Orlena and ollie are listed as his stepchildren JAmes And Nancy appear to have married about 1869, i believe there was an actual date but i only took the year. so could Franklin be deceased by this time or could they be divorced? I didnt find them in 1870 unless again I missed them. I dont believe I ever went through the court minutes for Claiborne County too much reading of faded paper for me!! So there might be somthing in there regarding their estates. I did at one time start going through the tax list for Claiborne County but I only got as far as the 1850's but from my notes I have a notation that says " No taxes during the years of the civil war?"
I cant remember why i wrote that
I didnt ask about the Civil war just listened to stories that were told and took notes.
I never went back past Mordica's father William and have not met anyone who has.
We have a cousin who has done quite abit on the Cooks and is working on the Hill's She is a very good researcher and likes everything documented as best it can be. She has a online newsletter which is great, I believe she has started transcribing the tax lists for Claiborne and putting them up on the newsletter she might be able to help you if you have questions about some of the records of Claiborne County and she also has access to most of the census records for there as well. if want to get in touch with her just let me know.
I descend through John's daugther Lucinda same as our cousin mentioned above.
Dont think i helped very much just ramblings but maybe they migh help in some way.
