Denise Burdsall wrote that she had quite a bit of Burdsall (various spellings) research.
Many of us also have a "Burdsall" book by a man named named, A. Burdsall and it's fantastic - especially when one realizes it was made back in the day when there was no internet.Hats off to that author. My problem however is that my GG Grandfather is "Moses Burdsall" from New Jersey (May 1875 - 1858) who died in what is now Cincinnati, Ohio.He isn't listed in the book anywhere that I can locate, and of course neither is his father, Uriah.I believe his father was from around Brulington, New Jersey (born about 1735 and also died in Cincinnati, Ohio).I have had a few people tell me Uriah is Moses's father, but so far I have no definate proof.Furthermore I have no clues about Uriah's father, although people tell me it is Jacob Birdsall (born about 1690 - Oyster Bay, New York).Does your material give any ideas about Uriah and/or his father?Do they even list a Uriah Birdsall (however spelled) anywhere?Do they indicate Moses is Uriah's son?In case this might help you or somebody else, here's what I have in my notes about Uriah:
Documents of Colonial History of the State of New Jersey, Vol CCII, Marriage Records 1665-1800 by William Nelson, pg 25, show Uriah Burdsal married to Elizabeth Webb of Burlington, NJ, on 29 Oct 1767.Documents indicate he came to Hamilton Co, Ohio in 1794.
Marriage date confirmed in book:Documents relating to the Colonial History of the State of New Jersey, Volume XXII. Marriage Records, 1665-1800 by William Nelson reprinted with the Permission of The New Jersey Historical Society show the 29 Oct 1767 marriage date also.
Burdsal Bullitin #49 (Oct 99)page 18 indicates Uriah's Father was Jacob Birdsall, and indicates proof is found in the New Jersey Colonial Documents, page 25, but no other info given.Shows Uriah born in Trenton, Mercer County, NJ, December 1735.I cannot locate any such material.
