In checking my notes, I found the following relating to Reuben's wife(wives?):
There is a tombstone in Oak Grove Cemetery next to St. Paul's United Church of Christ, along Route 268 near Chicora, Armstrong County, PA that may be for Lidia Burford. The stone is inscribed: In memory of (partially illegible - Lidia?) Margaret Wife of Ruben Burford Died March 19, 1816 Aged 28 yrs.
There is a possibility he was married more than once.Reuben's wife Lidia is indicated in a Deed found in Armstrong County Recorder of Deeds Deed Book Vol. 107, page 435. Statement of Lidia Burford also included., Sale of Land from Reuben Burford to Elisha Wick,19 October 1839, photocopy provided by Armstrong County Courthouse, Kittanning, PA, Statement by Justice of the Peace James Adams attesting that he examined Lidia Burford apart from her husband regarding the deed being recorded.
Reuben's will, Will dated 12 May 1847, probated 28 October 1852. Armstrong County, PA Estate File #992, Will - Reuben Burford, Sr., (Armstrong County Court House, Kittanning, Armstrong County, PA, Reg. Dkt. Vol. 1 page 253. Will Book Vol. 2 pages 33 and 36 does not mention a wife.
