My GreatGreatGrandfather was Robert Douglas Kenny 1797 - 1876, Co. Antrim, Ireland.
One of his daughters was Mary Kenny (born in the 1830's) who pre-deceased him. In his will he leaves a bequest for "the little Burnells the children of my deceased daughter Mary,,,the five little girls...to be sent through their honourable friend Mrs. Goodall".
I believe Mrs. Goodall to be Marcia Eliza Goodall, nee Lawrence, wife of Dr. Abraham Goodall, grand-daughter of Rev. George Knox, Rector of Strabane.
The fact that RDK 1797 does not mention Mary's husband & wants the bequest 'sent' implies that the girls are far away from Antrim. That he wants the decision of the use of the bequest to be made by Mrs. Goodall implies the girls' father may not, in his strict opinion have been quite so honourable. Perhaps he blamed him in some way for her death.
I know Mrs. Goodall travelled a great deal, lived in India & perhaps Australia & died in London, England in 1883.
I have one record of a daughter, Eliza b. 23 jan 1866 to Robert James Burnell and Mary Kenny in Australia. I do not know if this is my Mary Kenny.
Anyone have any info on Mary Burnell, nee Kenny from Ireland who gave birth to 5 daughters and is connected with a Mrs. Goodall?
