Billie Perkins 3/13/08
Billie, my James M. Busby family came from Kentucky, Missouri, and into Texas.James M. died in 1884.As far as I know he was no kin to your James Anderson Busby.
I will post the censuses I found for your James Anderson Busby.I erred when I said I had found the 1860 census.I only found the 1850, 1870, and 1880 censuses on James Anderson Busby. On the 1880 census, James Busby is maimed/crippled/bedridden/or disabled in some way.
This family moved to Kaufman Co., TX around 1900.I found a J."M." Busby in the Terrell Insane Asylum, Kaufman Co., TX.I would check into this.Initials and names were often wrong on many many documents.
I did find a James A. Busby headstone in DeSoto MS, Co. B, 44 Regt, MS Inf, 1835-1901. You may look into that, also.
There is a Mr. Bowling in Gun Barrel, TX, researching your James A. Busby. He is the one to whom I sent the censuses.
