Eva- I think your particular interest is in William Bush, the son of Isaac and Hannah Sammon Bush but I appreciate any help you can give me on this.
I think this John Bush who died about 1761 in Lancaster Co. may be Isaac's son also.I wonder if this John ever married or had children?
Do you think it possible that Isaac Bush may have been married once before he married Hannah Sammon in 1720??? Isaac was not exactly young when he married Hannah. They were only married 6 years before he died. Certainly enough time for 2 sons but how about 3? Maybe a daughter also? Or do you think maybe John may have been from an earlier marriage?Perhaps to a Newby????Brumley?
When looking at records for Isaac and Hannah Bush and their sons, William, James and John (?) the same names keep coming over several generations.
Pullen: Henry Pullen witnessed the Will of Ann Bush, widow of Abraham in 1689 Lanc. Co. Henry Pullen was the grandfather of Jonathan Pullen who married Samuel Brumley's daughter (granddaughter?) Betty Ann Brumley in 1763 Lanc. Co.
Brumley: Samuel Brumley was the son of Daniel Brumley of Lancaster Co. Samuel was born ca 1681. He was about Isaac Bush's age. Samuel Brumley and Hannah Bush administrators for Estate of Isaac Bush in 1726 Lanc. Co. Samuel Brumley mentioned in the Will of Stephen Tomlin in 1704 Lanc Co. William Sammon witnessed the Tomlin Will. Samuel Brumley dies in 1748. His Will mentions his wife Margaret (nee Tomlin) and his son Samuel Brumley, Jr. The Will is witnessed by Henry Newby.
Newby: Henry Newby married Mary Tomlin, daughter of Stephen Tomlin.
Henry and Mary Tomlin's daughter Sarah married Samuel Brumly, Jr. Henry and Mary Tomlin Newby's daughter married John Bailey.
Henry Newby, John Stott, Sr. and Edward Blackmore appraised the Estate of Hannah Sammon Bush in 1726 Lanc. Co.
Thomas Stott's 1747 Will mentions his plantation where James Bush is living (in 1747). This James is son of Isaac Bush and Hannah Sammon
1756 Tobacco Tenders in Lanc. Co with Tobacco Burnt at Deep Creek warehouse: James Bush (son of Isaac Bush) Samuel Brumley Henry Newby
Jsmes Bush's wife Margaret (nee Riveer?) dies and her Estate is appraised by James and Ozwald Newby
Inventory of John Bush 1761 lanc. Co. by John Bailey, John Walters and James Newby
I really think this John Bush is another son of Isaac Bush!!!!Your thoughts?? I also think this Newby family is inexplicably connected to the Bush family over several generations. Might they have married with the Bush family also??I know we may NEVER find any proof but it sure seems strange!!
IT seems to me that your William Bush, son of Isaac went to Lunenburg County with the Sammon family and his brother James was not far away. Was John Bush Isaac's eldest son and thus inherited Isaac's land after Hannah's death and thus stayed in Lancaster County?? I'd love to find more records and wish dear Georgi was here to chime in her 2 cents!
Glad I could help. You've been a great resource, too. I think we're uncovering more each day! I have been in close touch with a descendant of Isaac Bush's son, James Bush. His DNA results PROVE he descends from old Abraham!
