Using census records and also Bedford County material provided by the Marshes, I have made up this family presumptively this way:
George Bussey m. Lucy Brown:
I think there is a transcription error in one of Marsh books regarding this family. I think an investigation into the originals will show that Lucy was a Brown, and that both George and Lucy died fairly young. Their children seem to be:
i. Elliott Bussey, who seems to have died before MAR 1858, and who had the following heirs; John Bussey, Michael Bussey, George Bussey, Elizabeth Bussey, Mary Bussey, Mary C. Hill, and Martha J. Hill. So it seems there was likely another daughter who predeceased Elliott and who had married a Hill. I don't see any indication that any of the heirs were minors. Elliott owned land warrant #60440 (100 acres).
ii. Daniel Bussey, who evidently died pretty young, since his heirs, Elliott Bussey and Michael Bussey were heirs (see below).
iii. Nancy Bussey, who may have married a Brown. I think this Nancy was living with the Lentz family in the 1870 census (see below). Nancy was born in SC.
iv. Frances Bussey, no information.
v. Penelope Bussey, m. Benjamin F[ranklin?] Lentz. Benjamin Lentz was guardian of the minor heirs of Daniel Bussey. Penelope was born in SC, and had the following children: Eliza Jane Lentz (m. JTD Madlox), George W[ashingon?] Lentz (m. Mary Bruster), Samuel Jonah Lentz (m. Louisa Ann Springer; my line), James Monroe Lentz (m. Elizabeth Lowell), Madaline White Lentz, Benjamin Newton Franklin Lentz, Mary Caroline Lentz, Nancy Mahala Lentz (m1. Hugh Bruster, m2. Craven Head), Lucy Ann Lentz, & Willie Greenberry Davis Lentz (was he called sometimes "Berry"?).
Please contact me if you have any information about any of these people :) Cheers -gb- email@example.com
