His daughters from his first marriage are living with them.
In Green County KY Death Lists: "Elizabeth Caldwell,25,female, married b. VA dau of Creed & ___ElizaButler d. 11/_/1852 consumption.
There is an age discrepancy---Elizabeth Caldwell at what is reported as 25 years of age---if Elizabeth Caldwell is S.E. Butler she would have been 18 or 19 years of age since she was born about 1834. However, Creed only had 2 daughters of marriageable age in 1852---Martha Cara and S.E.---and so I believe it was S.E. Butler on the death list. There is nothing about where she was buried: Green Co or Adair Co KY.
On a deed dated 1850's from Creed Butler was selling land in Adair Cty., KY , it states that he was from Green Cty., KY and then in 1852 death info about his "daughter" from Green Cty., KY. Since Green Cty., is adjacent to Adair Cty alot of the people moved back and forth between them.

Muster Roll of Company H of the Second Cooper County Militia
This muster roll is in the possession of Rox Brandes who kindly allowed it be copied. The muster roll did not contain the date it was taken. And that in and of itself presents a dilema.Given the names of the individuals on this roll there are two possible time frame in which it could have been taken. The first is between January and August of 1864; which is the between the formation of the Ninth Regiment Enrolled Missouri Militia and the formation of the Forty-fifth Regiment Missouri Infantry. However, there are a couple of individuals whose names appear on the muster roll that almost rule out these dates. The second date is May or June 1865, which is when the Missouri Militia Units were disbanded. All the names on this roll are consistent with this date.More importantly, the muster roll is for the Second Cooper County Militia; not the first. It is known that Cooper County Militia units were operating from July 1864 through May 1865, but this company is not one of the known units. Finally, it is known that a Cooper County Militia unit was in existence through 1866.Taking all of the information into consideration I would date this muster roll as being taken in May or June of 1865.
