I had a look through my files, etc., to see if I could find a link to your BUTTER ancestors, but at the moment they look to be two different lines. From what I can see, your Henry Adams BUTTER was the son of Alexander BUTTER and Kate ADAMS, who were married in 1878, Dundee (St Peter).
Here's the family in 1891:
71, High Street, Dundee (St Clement)
Alexander BUTTER, Head, 40, Insurance Collector, Dundee
Kate BUTTER, Wife, 39, Yeovil, Somerset
Emmia K. BUTTER, Dau, 12, Scholar, Dundee
Eric Alex BUTTER, Son, 10, Scholar, Dundee
Harry Adams BUTTER, Son, 9, Scholar, Dundee
Alfred George BUTTER, Son, 7, Scholar, Dundee
Quite coincidentally, I live only a few miles away from Yeovil in Somerset, where Kate ADAMS was born!Kate ADAMS was the daughter of Henry ADAMS, a Glove Manufacturer (born circa 1823, Yeovil, Somerset), and his wife Louisa Maria GANGE (born circa 1819, East Coker, Somerset), who were married in June Qtr 1845, Yeovil District, Volume 10, Page 961.(These are the details you'll need if you wanted to order their marriage certificate from the General Register Office at http://www.gro.gov.uk/gro/content/http://www.gro.gov.uk/gro/content/ - do let me know if you'd like me to try to find some more info for you).
I don't know how far back you've managed to get with your BUTTER line, but Alexander was born in 1850, son of Alexander and Mary BUTTER - here's the family in 1851:
54, West Port, Dundee
Alexander BUTTER, Head, 48, Wright, Forgan, Perthshire
Mary BUTTER, Wife, 40, Forfarshire
James BUTTER, Son, 25, Wright, Edinburgh
Hellen BUTTER, Dau, 5, Dundee
Christina BUTTER, Dau, 3, Dundee
Alexander BUTTER, Son, 6 months, Dundee
Ann SMITH, Servant, 17, Mearns
Hope the above info is of some use!
